Metal roofs are a popular choice in Queensland. They are a durable option, withstanding wind, hail and extreme weather conditions. Metal roofs can last anywhere up to 40 to 70 years.
If you notice that your roof is deteriorated, or losing its aesthetic appeal, don’t worry, Roof Leak Services can provide an affordable solution to meet your needs.
Roof Leak Services are the experts in roof restorations.
We travel to Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Logan, Ipswich as well as the surrounding suburbs.
A metal roof has many benefits, however unfortunately, one of the disadvantages is it is susceptible to rust and oxidation, dents and paint peeling. Wet seasons, humidity or excessive heat can cause damage to paint, sheet metal, or metal shingles. A damaged roof quite often leads to water leaking into your house.
Nobody wants water inside their house! Rather than undergoing a costly roof replacement, Roof Leak Services can carry out a professional roof restoration on your metal roof to prevent further damage from occurring.
We commence the restoration process by repairing or replacing damaged roof sheets and replacing old lead nails or rusty screws and blades where required. We apply a penetrol oxide inhibitor to the entire oxidized surface, then one coat of metal primer, and two layers of roof membrane coating.
For our Colorbond roofs, we have a wide range of colours to meet the needs of our customers. A roof restoration is vastly more affordable than a roof replacement, and may be all you need to keep your roof functioning as it should.
At Roof Leak Services, our team of professionals are trained carefully to carry out the roof works to a high quality in accordance with Australian industry standards.
Depending on the size and complexity of the roof, a roof restoration can cost as little as $2,000 (excluding GST).
This is a worthwhile investment if you wish to improve the look and functionality of your roof.
Metal roofs can last up to 40 to 70 years. They are an extremely durable roofing material, except if they start to show signs of surface rust or deterioration.
As soon as you identify rust in your metal roof, you should take action to remove it as soon as possible. If you don’t, the rust will spread further and may cause a larger point of entry for water to enter your home. If the rust has caused corrosion, remove it by lightly sanding it.
Once the rust is removed, apply metal primer, and two coats of paint. If your roof is more than 30 years old, it might be time for a roof restoration or roof replacement.
If you are struggling to decide whether to restore or replace you roof, we recommend considering the following:
• Full roof replacement is expensive and often, it is not required to ensure your house is water proof.
• Once any holes or water leaks are repaired, a roof restoration may be all you need to extend the life of your roof. The process provides a protective layer to your roof to prevent damage caused by rust and weathering.
• Opting for a roof restoration is a vastly more affordable solution than a full roof replacement.
• A roof restoration can dramatically enhance the street appeal of your home or building.
The best coating for a metal roof is one that prevents rust corrosion.
Colorbond and Zincalume are tried and tested products that come with a built-in protective layer. Galvanizing is another method of rust prevention for roofs. The roof material is coated in a thin layer of zinc. This stops oxygen and water reaching the metal underneath but the zinc also acts as a sacrificial metal, sustaining any damage before the layer underneath does.
We regularly work with Colorbond roofs and our roofing specialists are extremely experienced in the Colorbond range of materials and colours.

Depending on the size and complexity of your roof structure, a roof restoration can be as little as $2,000 (exclusive of GST).
